Can you export it for macOS?

Nope, unfortunately we don't develop or release games/tools for macOS anymore.

maybe you could set up a linux VM whare you run the game

Is there a way to get out of a match when you already are playing? because I love the game but whenever I want to leave and go on a new map or change the vehicle I always have to press esc and open the game again. ( pls halp me )

its not working

Could you give more information? What OS are you on? What's not working?

(-3)

i dont let me control anything even the menu to start the game

You can't click to start the game? Again, I need to know what OS you are on - Windows or Linux? Did you try pressing a key while in-game?

(-2)

i play on windows :/

(-3)

it dosent let me control the cars

You press any key on the keyboard to spawn a car, then hold that key to turn right. The car automatically drives. Please note that this is a multiplayer only game.

Sorry. When you don't use the proprietary AMDGPU-PRO drivers in GNU/Linux, the game works perfectly. But this is an AMD problem, now I can play KeyCars without problems after installing MESA drivers :).

The GNU/Linux version doesn't work on my system, I think the 64-bit one is missing.

I'm having a bit of trouble finding the source of the game (oops...) so I can't build a new version. I hope I'll be able to locate it however it might've been lost in a data loss accident last year, once I find it I'll create a new build adding the 64-bit Linux version. Sorry :(

César León, te sigo en tu canal de Youtube. Además justo hoy te encontré en otro canal, y en este juego, que coincidencia

Jjajajajaj es verdad... ¿Me estás rastreando? xDD

Any plans to release the source code and files? Thanks

I was recommended this game by a friend, come to find out it doesn't work on Mac 10.15.4  PLEASE FIX THIS

I saw the developer says there's no plan in the works to fix?  Is it because it is a complicated fix?

What is the newest version of MAC iOS that this game works on?

Please report what the issue is to bugs@kenney.nl, please be as detailed as possible and if available attach the log generated here(under Player > MacOS)

there is no bug, the app is not compatible anymore because it is 32 bit and apple axed 32 bit app support last year. If you just recompile as a 64 bit app it should work. :)

I tried to start the game and the .exe file deleted itself entirely, it didn't even go in the recycle bin.

Edit: Turned out it got auto deleted by my antivirus.

You might have a pretty aggressive anti-virus, I just checked myself and the file(s) contain no virus.

Malwarebytes might be pretty aggressive.

Hi Kenney, I just bought this game but it seems not to work with the current version of my macOS (10.15.3). Can you tell if an update is in the making? Thanks in advance!

(-1)

Hey Dave! The game is available for free so no purchase is necessary. No updates are planned.

(+2)(-1)

Yeah, but I decided to support you by paying $5 :) just too bad that I can't play it now. Anyway, I'm also looking forward to Asset Forge 2.0, so supporting you is not the problem. Thanks for the quick reply!

NICE

Wow, this is fun! Good work, Kenney!

Cool game!

Love the graphics style and that it supports as many players as the keyboard can handle. I could see myself hook this up to a makey makey ( https://makeymakey.com/ ) for a game night. Would need to have some kind of win condition though...

Here are some suggestions for future development:

Win conditions:
Option 1: When a timer runs out the player with the highest current score wins.

Option 2: Configurable number of respawns. Last player standing wins.

Controls:
For more control of the steering, the direction could switch everytime the key is pressed.

Additional keys:
Would be nice to have the numeric keys work as well. If I hook up makey makeys it'd be good to use 1,2,3,4,5 for players 1-5.

Keep up the good work!

KeyCars has been updated to version 1.3, what's new:

  • 3 new stages added
  • Enhanced physics
  • Dynamic camera
  • Vehicle corner tilting
  • Improved collisions

I love one button games, and this is one of the bests! Please make a "winner is" message when there are no more cars left in the arena... and add gamepads buttons too. :P

That's a good suggestion, will think about it!

Agree, would love a win condition!

Really creative game! Lots of fun too :D

KeyCars has been updated to version 1.1, what's fixed:

  • Fixed issue with pads
  • Fixed issue with audio setting (on/off)

Would love a Mac build of this game, if possible! :)

Both a Mac and Linux version will be released in a few days, after we've squashed some initial bugs in the Windows version. Stay tuned!

Came to the comments for the same request :)

Glad to hear a Mac version is coming, looks like a lot of fun for me and the kids

Added OSX and Linux versions, these are untested however so might not function properly!

Works on MacOS High Sierra, just tested it! Funny game :)

I've just tested the Linux version. Quite a fun game! The only issue I ran into was that it kind of locked me out of my system when I pressed the Fullscreen toggle. I had to switch to another virtual terminal and force-kill the game to recover.

Did the ESC key not work?

Thanks! Works great with a few minutes of testing. Though are we supposed to get points when hitting the yellow speed boost block? Racked up a few just running in circles over that button :)

Yep! Don't worry, when playing multiplayer someone is bound to stop you from doing that - hah.

Confirmed working on Mac El Capitan! Though of course it won't open when you double-click the .app; you have to right click and choose "Open". Full-screen works, but the framerate drops significantly.

Love the no-config-needed keyboard setup! Very clever!
