Amazing solitaire game! Do you mind if I mod it to implement controller and preference saving support?

(+1)

Would love to see a Free Cell version :D

(+1)

We got a desktop version, yay!

Works great on my Linux box. Thanx. :)

Hurray, thanks for letting me know! 🎉

Big fan, ty for making this :)

Fun game, but I  came across an odd problem, when  moving  one stack of cards to an empty spot the one card that was left behind vanished.  I couldn't put anything on that spot, so the game thought there was a card there, even if not visible

(+2)

Thank you, this issue has now been resolved!

Nice Solitaire! Sub 1:30 on Easy, sub 2:30 on Hard!

I love the game and atmosphere.

Is there any actual rule that forbids placing any card on empty slot?

I don't know the real card game rules. I was a big fan of "DChoc Cafe Solitaire" in mobile java days, and I can't remember there was such limit.

(+3)

Yeah, on the foundation (top 4 slots) you need to build up from A to K, and on the tableau (bottom 7 slots) you build down from K to A!

I encountered this situation:

Trying to turn the last cart from the pile reveals another five of spades; i can hear the sound of the card turning, and the back disappears from the pile, but on the right there is no change and i can not drag the card.

However, the “Complete” button becomes enabled and it began by placing the two of hearts on the empty space on the far right; it finished placing all the card.  It is like the one of hearts _is_ there, but i can not see it, and i did not see it any moment during play.

This issue has been fixed! It was caused by the ace of hearts to be overwritten by the little preview in the theme selection... but it would then remove the texture all together. So it should all be working now!

Very nice - and relaxing :D

Nice game.

It makes me want to pay for Kenney Minesweeper and Kenney Sudoku.

Thank you!

what inspired you to make this

(+4)

For some reason, I've always wanted to make a solitaire game after being disappointed with so many others. It's sort of a dream come true!

It might be an inconsequential flair, but a preview of the card appearance/backdrop when selecting them could be a good touch instead of closing the menu to see what things look like.

(+2)

Working on this right now!

i played this for way too long

Some good old classic solitaire. Thank you.

Suggestion: Add an 'auto-finish'(?) button that moves all possible cards to the foundation, one by one.  It's not necessary, of course, but it would be a nice touch, especially to go with the beloved 'bouncing card fountain' animation.  (...and a little firework 'pop' at the base of each card to propel it upwards would just be :chefskiss: )

(+1)

This has been added :) I'm working on a cool game end animation!

Thank you!

Small bug: The initial pop-up appears every time I restart instead of only when the game is first started.

Thank you for this beauty!

Works flawlessly on mobile too.

Is there a Windows 95 theme? xD

Great little solitaire. There is a minor issue where if you hover your mouse over the bottom edge of the card, it'll flicker back and forth between hovered and non-hovered state.

Hi Kenney, just wanted to report that the game is not working on mobile browser. I'm on Android and I'm using Firefox. Any plan to support web mobile in the future, or is this a bug?

Works for me using Firefox on Android.

I personally only tested on Chrome, Android and that works. Sorry, I can't test other settings

Any chance to open source the project? I would love to contribute and would be available for further testing the issue on Firefox Android :)

Nice work Kenney - one feature request would be the classic "double click" if the card can be put on its stack to save a bit of time. But lots of fun! Enjoy seeing your mouse pointer pack put to good use here :)

Happy to report that this has been added!

crazy turnaround :D Thanks Kenney!

Excellent implementation of classic solitaire.

(+2)

Hey so, are there unwinnable scenarios in this one? Got stuck for like 30 minutes :sob:

(+2)

Yes, there's no algorithm in place so it's like playing using real cards!

(+1)

Dude, IDK if I'm doin something wrong, but I got like 5 unwinnables in a row... I'm putting cards where they go as soon as I get the option, and failing. the worst part is, I can't even reset the round I just did to place cards in other spots or skip dead ends.

(+1)

I've updated the game and pre-selected solvable games, which means you'll always get a game that can be solved. You can still get stuck, but they can all be solved when played well!

(+3)

Kenney I get that you don't want to reuse the cascade animation victory but add something! It made the whole game!

+1 to this, I was hoping to see that crazy windows 98 solitaire card victory thing too.

+999  Sometimes, even the most delicious cake just wants a cherry on top.

Whoops, I broke it on my first game :V

Wouldn’t let me put a queen stack on an empty slot, and then I checked options again to see if this was a difficulty option I missed, and now nothing is intractable.

for some reason the ticking clock makes me anxious. I was hoping it would at least pause when the options were up since you can’t interact or really even see the board.

(+1)

The king is the highest value card so that goes into an empty slot, not the queen!

I came here with no knowledge of solitaire, but the game feel was so good I went to google instructions for this. I loved the SFX and the way each card dropped into place. The "Messy" option was also very interesting to have!

A quick reference on how to play would be good for future improvement!

it's harder than I remembered 😅

update: if you leave a comment, you actually win the game

Took a couple runs but finally won one, great mini game!

Relaxing!!

damn it Kenney I had work to do today, how dare you.

This was actually very relaxing. But I feel like it's a bit tougher than Microsoft's implementation. I mean: I haven't yet solved a game after 5-6 attempts. :)

P.S. Graphics are great as always. :)

P.P.S. Undo would be very useful.

lookin' good

(+1)

Feels very chill and cozy.

Do you use some algorithm to guarantee that every game is solvable?

Lastly, a bit of `nice to have` feedback:

  • Music and sound volume slider would be a nice touch.
  • Mute on out of focus also.
  • Instruction. There are many variations of solitaire, instruction to clarify would be a nice to have.
(+3)

This game looks good, but the devil is in the details. I can't play any solitaire without double click and undo.

(1 edit) (+3)

Instead of double click, it's right click to auto place. Undo unfortunately isn't an option yet, but I might add later on!

Good game
